Skin problems are very common issues and we all can develop them at some point of time in our lives. Some skin problems don’t have a cure, meaning you can just relieve the symptoms. There are many creams and medications sold at drug stores but they often include steroids, hormones, or some synthetic substances that can cause adverse side effects. Besides that, very often they don’t do a very good job getting rid of the problem.
We, however, love nature, and more and more research with promising results are being done on natural remedies. Nature is vast and sometimes we can find help where we least expect it. Here is a list of 10 common skin problems and the best natural remedies for them. We chose remedies that give the best results in the least amount of time and that are not too difficult to use.
1. Acne
Acne is the most common skin problem worldwide. It affects about 85% of people at some point in their lives. Acne occurs when oil, dead skin, and/or bacteria clogs up the pores of your skin. Scientists believe that stress alone does not cause acne however if you already have it then it can certainly worsen your acne breakout. So the first step is to try to avoid stress, take things more lightly. Since acne is so common skin problem then people worldwide have tried different remedies to get rid of it. Here are 3 of the best natural remedies to treat acne.
- Applying Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is famous for its ability to fight bacteria and reduce inflammation. It does not work as quickly as the 5% benzoyl peroxide (that is a pharmaceutical drug prescribed to treat acne) however tea tree oil has fewer adverse effects like irritation, dryness, and burning. After using tea tree oil for 3 consecutive months it significantly improves acne situation on your skin.
- Using a 100% natural Acne Formula
These formulas use carefully selected homeopathic ingredients that are proven to be extremely effective in getting rid of all types of acne. We love Amoils acne formula because it soothes the skin without making it itch, burn, or leave scars. You can get clear skin with an all-natural product.
- Make Aloe Vera, Cinnamon, and Honey Skin Masks
Aloe Vera is known for its antibacterial properties and for its soothing effect on the skin since it reduces redness and irritation. Cinnamon and Honey are 2 other ingredients that have shown to have similar effects. You’ll make a great skin mask to get rid of acne by combining these 3 ingredients. Just mix 1 tablespoon of aloe vera with 2 tablespoons of pure honey. Add a little bit of cinnamon and apply the mask on your skin. Relax and leave it on for 10-15 minutes.
PS! Usually, Apple Cider Vinegar is also recommended as a home remedy to treat acne however it didn’t make the cut in our list because applying it directly on the skin can cause irritation and burning.

2. Dandruff
Dandruff is one of those skin problems that mainly affects the scalp. It’s recognizable due to flaking and sometimes mild itchiness of the scalp. Like with most of the skin problems, people who have it consider it an embarrassing issue and it may cause self-esteem problems.
Dandruff can be caused by many things including sensitivity to hair products, dry skin, a yeastlike fungus, or other skin conditions, such as psoriasis and eczema. An important thing to know is that dandruff is not contagious and it’s usually not considered as a serious condition. However, since it is embarrassing and inconvenient it’s good to get rid of it. Here are our 2 favorite natural treatment options for dandruff.
- Use Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is known to improve skin hydration and prevent dryness. A study shows that applying coconut oil on your scalp for 8 weeks reduced dandruff symptoms by 68%. Besides doing wonders on your scalp coconut is also good for your hair. It promotes hair growth and makes your hair softer and shinier.
- Aloe Vera to get rid of flaking scalp
Aloe Vera is a good natural option to treat dandruff since it has a great moisturizing effect. It’s also anti-inflammatory and has antioxidant properties and reduces skin irritation. You can use an all-natural aloe vera gel couple of times per week. Just gently massage the gel on your scalp and let it sit for about half an hour. After that rinse off with natural shampoo.

3. Rosacea
It’s a long-term skin condition that usually affects the face. Its symptoms include swelling, redness, pimples, and tiny visible blood vessels on the skin. The exact cause of Rosacea is unknown however it is believed that a combination of hereditary and environmental factors plays a role. Since there is no known cure for rosacea then the best we can do is to relieve the symptoms. Here are the 2 best natural options for how to relieve rosacea symptoms.
- Green Tea as a natural remedy for rosacea
Green Tea is packed with antioxidants and is one of the favorite options to reduce rosacea symptoms. Make a cup of natural green tea, let it cool off in the fridge, and afterward soak a piece of cloth in it. Massage the affected areas and then let the wet cloth rest on the skin. Repeat this several times per week for better results.
- All-Natural Rosacea formula
It’s an all-natural product to get rid of rosacea symptoms (a very hard thing to find nowadays since most of the rosacea products contain a list of potentially harmful chemicals). The H-Rosacea Formula contains specifically selected natural herbs that each target different rosacea symptoms. You need to use only a few small drops of the product and results can appear as early as a week. Besides reducing rosacea symptoms many people agree that it makes your skin softer and younger-looking.
4. Sunburn
Too little sun and we might end up with Vitamin D deficiency, too much sun results in sunburn. It doesn’t take much to get a sunburn, sometimes 15 minutes is enough. People with light skin and hair are especially at risk. The best option is to avoid sunburn but if it’s too late for that then here are 3 natural options for immediate sunburn relief.
- Aloe Vera Gel
We can’t get around of Aloe Vera Gel. It definitely our number one option in case of sunburn since it offers immediate relief by reducing redness and pain. It also moisturizes your skin, and speeds healing. It’s advisable to grow the Aloe Vera plant at home so you can have access to fresh 100% natural Aloe Vera gel any time you have a need for it.
- Cold Compress (but not too cold!)
The first thing we want to stress: never place ice directly on the sunburnt skin. You will do more damage than good and may end up with a cold burn on top of your sunburn. Instead, put some ice in a plastic bag, wrap a towel around it, and then gently hold it against the affected area.
- Honey
Yes, honey is not only good as a natural sweetener but it also makes an excellent sunburn relief. Honey is full of antioxidants that help to heal damaged skin. Just gently massage a thin layer of natural honey on your skin and let it rest for half an hour. Afterward, rinse it off with lukewarm water. Make sure you don’t roughly rub your skin!
PS! Proper hydration is very important at all times, however, in the case of sunburn, it’s especially important. A sunburnt skin draws water to the skin’s surface and hence it’s easy to get dehydrated. Make sure you drink plenty of water!
5. Eczema (atopic dermatitis)
Skin problems can often be contagious but eczema is not. There are several types of eczema, the most common one is atopic dermatitis. The main known causes for atopic dermatitis are dry skin, exposure to allergens, skin infections, or a gene variation (or even a combination of all of those).
Its symptoms include dry, itching skin, redness, dark-colored patches of skin, sometimes crusting, and areas of swelling. There is no cure for eczema however there are several treatments to relieve the symptoms. Here are the top 3 natural eczema reliefs.

We love this one because it’s safe for children and offers very quick relief for itching, sores, and pain caused by eczema. The product doesn’t contain any chemicals and doesn’t have side effects as many other harsh eczema creams and prescription medication can have.
- Sunflower seed oil
Since eczema is a dry skin condition it’s important to keep your skin moisturized. Sunflower seed oil is also considered anti-inflammatory which makes it great to keep eczema at bay. To see results sunflower seed oil should be applied on the skin twice per day, preferably after taking a bath or shower (so your skin still would be wet)
- Virgin or cold-pressed coconut oil
Coconut oil is an excellent skin moisturizer. It also contains lauric acid that has antibacterial properties and helps to keep bacteria, viruses, and fungi from penetrating your skin. Coconut oil also reduces oxidative stress and is known to have anti-inflammatory properties. All great things to keep eczema symptoms at bay.
PS! Since eczema is often caused by exposure to allergens you might want to make sure you are not allergic to your detergent or even your clothing tags. Try changing your detergent and choose one that doesn’t contain potential allergens. Also, try cutting off clothing tags.
6. Warts
Warts are caused by the human papillomavirus and are contagious, they transmit by touch. Warts occur most often on your fingers and hands (but can appear elsewhere as well). They are rough to the touch and resemble small cauliflowers which are sprinkled with black pinpoints (which are actually tiny, clotted blood vessels). Natural remedies work very well on warts plus they don’t have any chemicals. Here are 3 natural remedies for warts that work the best
- Garlic
Allicin is the main component of garlic. It has antimicrobial effects and hence garlic does truly great work in removing warts naturally. It’s also super simple to use. Just place a thin slice of peeled garlic on the wart and cover with a bandage. Leave it on for several hours and repeat for 3-4 weeks. However, make sure there aren’t any open cuts or wounds in the area. If there are then don’t use the garlic method.

A specifically designed natural product that works well on warts. It doesn’t contain any harmful ingredients. We like this one because it can also be used on children (after 4 yo) and it works fast (usually in 2 weeks the warts are 100% gone). Afterward, clean the area and repeat the process for several days. You can see the effect in 1-4 weeks.

There are some medical treatment options however since natural treatments work just as well then we opt for natural. Here are our 3 favorite home remedies to get rid of skin tags,

The device cuts off the blood flow to the base of the tag which results in the death of the skin tag cells. Usually, within 7-10 days the tag will fall off since it doesn’t have access to blood flow anymore. There are devices for sale depending on the size of your skin tag.

Just apply frankincense oil on the skin tag for several times a day and wait for the skin tag to fall off. Frankincense oil works well because it dries out the skin tag making it fall off.
PS! Skin tags are mostly not cancerous growths that pose no threat. However, if your skin tag bleeds, is itchy, grows in size, and/or shows several colors then go see a dermatologist immediately!

Lemon juice is a well known natural bleaching agent. It’s full of citric acid and vitamin C that makes it a great natural age spots remover. It’s also a natural exfoliator so it accelerates the fading of age spots. It’s not advisable to add pure concentrated lemon juice on the skin, instead dilute it with water (1 part of water, 1 part of lemon juice). Apply the mixture on the age spots and let it do its magic. It is advisable to do this before going to sleep because you shouldn’t be exposed to the sun with lemon juice on your skin it makes your skin hypersensitive to the sun.

Besides being unsightly they often have many uncomfortable and even painful symptoms. Varicose veins often cause pain, itching, swelling, and general heaviness in the legs. Here are the top 3 natural remedies that actually work. They relieve the symptoms and make the appearance of the affected skin more youthful.
- Richweed and Horse chestnut plant
Richweed and Horse chestnut plants are known to have substances in them that relieve itching, heaviness, and leg pain. That’s why extract from these plants make an excellent treatment for varicose veins. Amoils has an amazing product that includes extracts from those 2 plants and few other ingredients that work wonders on varicose veins (and on spider veins as well). We love this product because it’s safe and 100% natural.

Moderate exercising is good to keep your body healthy but it also helps to reduce varicose symptoms (and prevent them). Swimming, walking, and elevating your legs are all good options. They are low-impact workouts and don’t strain your body too much. However, running and weightlifting are usually not recommended because they put a lot of pressure on your legs and veins circulation.
- Support stockings
These come in different sizes and they have different levels of tightness. Some are so tight that they are prescribed by a doctor and fitted by a specialist. Some are less tight and offer less compression. When putting on compression stockings it’s important to make sure they are fitted well, that they are of the correct size, and that you don’t leave them on for too long. They usually don’t cost too much and can be worn undetected under clothes.
PS! You get the best results if you combine all three options. Massaging all-natural oil that contains carefully selected plant extracts, doing moderate exercise, and using correct support stockings all help to treat varicose veins.

Banana peels contain specific acids and enzymes that are believed to fade away moles. Make sure you place the white side of the banana peel in contact with your skin. You can use a bandage to keep it from falling off. Do this once per hour for several days to see results.
