Several essential oils can be used to treat dandruff and they are very effective. Below are some of the best essential oils for dandruff you should consider using, how they work, and how you should use them:

Peppermint oil has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties so it soothes the irritation of the scalp. It also absorbs the excess oil on the scalp so it prevents the build-up of oil and flakes that causes dandruff.

Since peppermint oil is very concentrated, you only need to put one or two drops in your shampoo and use it to wash your scalp.

Tea Tree Oil for Dandruff

Tea tree oil is multifaceted because it has antibacterial, antiseptic, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory benefits. It will therefore soothe your itchy scalp and kill the fungi that cause dandruff, effectively getting rid of the problem in the long haul.

To use tea tree oil as a remedy for dandruff, add 5-10 drops to your shampoo and shake properly before applying it. Massage it gently on your scalp and rinse thoroughly.
